2012 Participation Checklist    


Institution Primary Contacts should refer to the checklist below throughout the process to ensure that they are on track with the 2012 program requirements. February 20

Deadline: Registration for 2012 Chronicle Great Colleges program.

Reminder - Start pre-communicating to your campus community that the Faculty/Staff survey is coming in March/April to create momentum and excitement! It's never too early to start promoting participation in the survey.

Tip: This letter should be from your institution’s president/provost, chief academic officer, or other senior representative. The letter should position the survey/program and serve as an alert so that employees don't delete the survey invitation email. Institutions that pre-communicated the survey have enjoyed significantly higher response rates in previous years.  See Downloads for sample communication templates.

February 23
Please note that this date has been changed from February 21.

Available: Administrative Portal. All Primary Contacts will be emailed access information to an online platform where employee emails and the survey verification form will need to be uploaded.

Institution Questionnaire access through Administrative Portal will be granted by February 23 at the latest. ModernThink will email Primary Contacts an email reminder when the IQ becomes available to complete. The deadline for completing the IQ is April 13.

February 29

Deadline: Customization/Over-sampling (Optional). This option includes customization of the survey, oversampling and/or adding Non-exempt /Other Staff as part of the survey audience. See Customization Options for more details.

 
March 6

Deadline: E-mail addresses for everyone in your random sample of full-time Faculty, Administrators and Exempt Professional Staff. See Downloads for instructions on how to format the email list.

Process: Do not email lists or forms to ModernThink directly. Instead, upload your institution's email addresses and completed Verification Form through your individually customized portal. Login information will be sent to the Primary Contact by February 21.

March 6
Deadline: Survey Verification Form. See Downloads for a copy of the Verification Form.

March 12

Connectivity Test Today. Email sent by ModernThink to your institution’s Primary Contact and IT Contact in advance of the survey launch.

Confirm receipt of the test email by replying to the email by March 16.

Important: Before this test, download the IT Requirements document and forward to your IT contact. This document details the domains/IP addresses to be exempted (or “whitelisted”) on “spam” filters running on your institution’s email servers.

March 5-16

Send Campus Community email alert that survey will be starting. Pre-survey communication of the employee survey is critical. This communication should be sent by your institution to your full-time Faculty, Administrators and Exempt Professional Staff.  See Downloads for sample communication templates.

March 19- April 13

(SURVEY PERIOD)

Faculty/Staff Survey Period. ModernThink Higher Education Insight Survey© period for your participating full-time Faculty members, Administrators and Exempt Professional Staff. ModernThink will send reminder emails to employees that have not yet completed the survey during the process. Primary contacts will be notified the day before reminders are issued.

If you are using login sets, it is up to you to send internal reminder communications.

April 13

Deadline for Surveys. Both the Institution Questionnaire and Faculty/Staff Survey close at the end of business hours today.

 May 15

 Deadline to order Additional Reports at a 15% discount.

Week of August 6


Participation Reports sent to all applicants.

Week of August 1

License Agreement available for use of the program logo for recognized institutions.

September 17

Deadline to order Additional Reports at a 7.5% discount.
